Coffee is a wonderful thing. But it is not a fuel in itself. Most of us, including me, make the mistake of thinking coffee as a fuel. Coffee is the most legalised form of drug. By drug I mean a substance which alters the chemicals in your body esp. Brain for a short period of time. Coffee does the same. It replaces adenosine in your brain making you more awake. This is great, but! When that caffeine drops down, there comes a period of 30-60 mins, where in anyway you can not concentrate. When you take coffee, it enables you to use extra horsepower. But when it depletes, you need to fill that horsepower back. There comes the Halo Effect. It is ok if you are at home, but it is dangerous while you are driving or riding.
This is not a scientific study, this is what I observed on the road-trips. It took me more time to understand this. Though, better late than never. Since the observation, I have reduced the intake of coffee, may be on a whim, once (or twice) a week. I strictly follow that when going on a roadtrip, with family or alone, I never drink coffee. I may have loved coffee and its powers (superpowers actually), but I decided that those powers come with heavy costs.
Some loves stay the same, but you somehow need to part with them – as I have parted with coffee. 😉😅
