Another Part-away!

I know I am parting away quite a few things these days! E-books, Coffee, and now Safari…! Yes, I am not using an Apple Browser on an Apple device right now! I used Safari browser for a long time now, at least 4.5 years. That too as a primary browser. It means all my hundreds of tabs, all my internet gateway was through that browser only. The security, the no-headache tab management, and a few good extensions made it worthy.

Since the latest update, Safari restricted many extensions which I used to have. An year back, with a progressive safari update, went one useful extension in the trash. I managed. Same started to happen again and again with new-coming updates as many extensions went down the trash. But recently, with the latest update, all the extensions went down the drain. Safari made it mandatory to install them through their own extension gallery. This means we would not be able to have developer made extensions. This is all great with security in mind, but this made all the browsing cumbersome (and distracting). So finally I decided that it is time to leave Safari as the internet door.

My replacement – Firefox Quantum. It is same (quite more) as Safari. It is fast, safe and reliable, has great tab management, and thank god, supports any extensions (known developers are safe always). With little tweaking and initial installation, I have switched to Firefox Quantum. Only one caveat is that this is not an Apple App. But who cares now, it works at least as an old Safari for me. One way or another, this switch is satisfactory.

By the way, I never liked google chrome as a browser. They steal your data, use it for their own, and it is hell unstable.
