Tomorrow is a weekend. Even though every day is a weekend for me now, weekends hold a special place to me – I could not enjoy my weekends in my early 20s. Try this tomorrow with me. If it rained, more better. Try this.
Prepare a good coffee. Filter, Moka, Cappuccino, Latte, Instant, whichever. When it is coffee, it is already great. I don’t hold any difference between coffees (love is blind). So, prepare a good coffee. By good, I mean, prepare coffee only – don’t do it as a background task. Smell the coffee while brewing. Let beautiful thoughts come to you while brewing. Think of a song while brewing. Let love breathe around you while brewing. Think of a smile while brewing.
Oops, I forgot to tell at the beginning; before preparing coffee, get hold of Marie Biscuits. Yes, Marie Biscuits. Try any other biscuit, but only Marie biscuits give the best coffee-biscuit experience. Don’t hold any second thoughts; I’ve tried many biscuits with coffee, but Marie is way up on the top.
To coffee. Prepare that good coffee hot. Remember, hot – nor piping hot, neither warm – precisely hot.
And then, let everything aside. Come outside – in a balcony, veranda, garden. Outside is the key word. Play a beautiful song on something open (no headphones).
And enjoy that coffee – half with biscuits, half after biscuits.
Note – The secret of a good coffee is that never ever burn the coffee. Burnt coffee is a stale coffee. e.g. when you prepare an instant coffee, always mix it up with 2-3 drops of water before adding hot milk to it. That way the grounds mix evenly and coffee won’t burn too.
Today I deep cleaned all my fountain pens. It was a beautiful experience. My advice to young children – don’t meditate, get a fountain pen! 😌 Why? Everything with fountain pens is so amazing! Everyone who is in the fountain pen world already know the basic maintenance, but for me, it was the first time.
I disassembled all my fountain pens in the morning, slowly. I flushed them out with water. I let them all soak in water for 2-3 hours. I let them dry out. And just now, I reassembled them and filled them with different different inks, cleanly, neatly. The whole process is slow and relaxing.
There is something beyond explanation with fountain pens.
I say again, don’t meditate, get a fountain pen! But beware, it is a rabbit hole, and we all know that rabbit holes have no end…

If he only had to create life and progeny and death, he could have done so easily by creating as many useful birds as possible. But, he didn’t. Look at every bird, what a beautiful thing it is; as if the Creator had a remarkable artistry in his mind, as if the Creator was in his happiest mood when he created each and every individual bird, as if he wanted to express his love. Lo and behold, his expression of love is perfection…!
Recently, we went to a secluded jungle for a day trip. We tried to hold our travel urges, but at last, when it rained, we lost our control. We had to travel somewhere. It was a day in heaven. Only us and a virgin jungle. Everywhere there were birds – singing beauty – not a moment passed by…

I remember, when I was in eleventh std, I went to a mall, shopper’s stop, at Pune; and there, the security guard did not let me play on the demo gaming wheel, even though it was meant as a demo wheel. This is stupid. I may have looked like a peasant (which I looked like at that time 😉), he had no rights not to let me play. Hello unknown security guard, ‘You are forgiven…’ 😁

My Current Computer Situation
My Macbook Pro will turn five this July 3rd. It has been a beast since. It has become old now. It is showing signs of weariness. Yet, it is one hell of a fighter. Rather than killing it with heavy loads, it is a time to let it relax now. To ensure this, I needed to find a partner for it.
I was sure that my next computer would be an iMac, but things don’t go as we think. I had decided that I’d upgrade to the top model when I needed to; but I found that, here in India, they don’t provide the top model. Instead, they provide a substandard model. Their top model doesn’t even have an NVMe drive. NVMe drive is the epitome of speed. It is 100 times faster than an SSD and 1000 times faster than an HDD. It is essential. This is stupid, Apple providing substandard model as a top model in India. I dropped my plan of purchasing an iMac. It does not make sense to compromise on hardware and speed.
I decided to build my own monster computer. I have a full control over the parts to use in my own build. By building my own computer, I am loosing the Apple ecosystem; but using substandard hardware is not worth it. To give a perspective, the CPU cooler in my PC is the best of the world; a german made behemoth. When I looked at the CPU cooler the first time, it gave me goosebumps with its size (I’ll show you its photograph after the build). It alone costed four times more than a normal CPU cooler. The CPU fans are world’s best, german made. NVMe drives, I have added two, 250gb & 1tb. They are the fastest NVMe drives in the market – even faster than iMac’s. The processor is tad faster than iMac’s. I’ve twice the RAM of an iMac and I have thrice faster Graphic Processing Unit. Everything costed significantly less too.
I was ready to buy an iMac at a moment’s notice, but I have no option. I have shifted because of speed and robustness. Lack of NVMe drive(s), lack of RAM, a less powerful Graphic Processing Unit make a difference of steel and gold. Robustness of the system is more important to me than the fluidity of Apple’s ecosystem. Also, I have my trustworthy Macbook Pro for the Apple Ecosystem work. It still can go for next 3 years. I’ll see the option for another Apple computer when the time comes. For now, it is the necessity of the time to have a powerful computer on hand.
I am awaiting for the parts to arrive. I’ll build that system at home. I’ll post a photograph of it after the build. Courier services in these pandemic situation are thick and thin, it may take some time for the parts to arrive though.
One more thing, I live by spreadsheets. I love making spreadsheets so much that I make spreadsheets of anything and everything.
